Day Ninety-Five - Lookout, Lakes Day Four

One of Lakes' lakes from the lookout

A real pelican!

Speaking of pelicans... I saw the fishing trawler again today. It was safely docked, so it didn't capsize...yet. Anyway. We went to the lookout today because tomorrow is supposed to be all cloudy and just no, so it was better for photos today. It was windy and we froze. Then my sister made us go to the park and we froze again. Joy. It would of been nice if the wind had dropped off - the weather is warmer in the Gippsland.

Home tomorrow!

Day Ninety-Four - Lake Tyers, Lakes Entrance Day 3

Feather between planks at the Lake Tyers fishing jetty

A portion of Lake Tyers' lake

We went on a random drive to Lake Tyers today. There's not much there really. Just a pub, a milk bar, a lake, a beach, housing and a lookout. The lake set up is interesting though - look! - it snakes right up to the Princes Highway almost from the coastline. Good effort! King tides at Lake Tyers' portion of 90 Mile Beach also connect the actual lake to the ocean. Also awesome.

Not a bad day for a "hey lets go on a drive!" adventure.

Day Ninety-Three - On the Esplanade, Lakes Day 2

Yes, they are fighting. Yes, this is normal. Yes, this is embarrassing. Yes, I do know them. They are my brother and sister. I wish they wouldn't fight on the main street...

Day Ninety-Two - Lakes Entrance Day One

Have fished off this jetty many a time. Caught anything? Nope.

Fishing boats and black swans. Black swans are not cool.

Surf!

More surf!

Along 90 Mile Beach

Out to sea

The Pelican! I though this boat was going to capsize. The lean is incredibly odd.

So yes, I find myself in Lakes Entrance for a few days while Dad works. Not that Dad is in Lakes Entrance any longer, but that's another story. It was sunny up until about midday so we wandered down to Lakes' main beach otherwise known as 90 Mile Beach. As the name suggests, the 'beach' covers ninety miles of Victoria's coastline. Good effort. The surf was moderately disappointing, which was lame. Then it was off to the local TAB to watch DeeDee's latest attempt at racing. She ran third this time. Big improvement. We're all very happy.

Day NInety-One - Cake!

I have a cool Grandma. This cake took two days to make and she made it especially for me. Awesome right?

Day Ninety - Bloom

This tree is pretty unique. It has no leaves whatsoever, but it's budding and blooming. It'll look quite nice soon.

Day Eight-Nine - Dark Days

It rained today, almost constantly. The sky seemed foreboding and brooding. Oh how that reflected my mood.

Day Eighty-Eight - Lavender

Were going to lose our lavender bushes to the extension in the coming months. They're wonderful plants, beautiful flowers. I just wish they wouldn't attract bees. It was also odd to find a lavender flower in July, very odd. But nice - a wonderful birthday surprise. Yes it is my birthday today and it was a pretty awesome day in many ways.

Day Eighty-Seven - Camellias

These are cool flowers. The winter winds have blown them across the front lawn and it's quite pretty really. The second photo even looks a bit like a fairy house. Yes, I have a wonderful imagination.

Day Eighty-Six - Long Time No See

So, it sort of looked like I'd finally ditched this blog. But alas I am back with a valid excuse. My internet died. Yep, that's all. No homework, no facebook, no MSN, no blog. Just TV. I hate TV. It's actually boring...but that's beside the point!

I took the photo some time last week, its wattle. Winter is prime wattle time in the wattle tree hanging over our fence is in full bloom and it's really quite stunning. I feel the photo doesn't really do it justice, but what can you do.

Peace,

- Adrienne

Ps. Promise there'll be a photo tomorrow

Day Eighty-Five - DeeDee's Epic Fail and Cranbourne's First Three

Travelling past the post in the first

King Oliver charges through for the win

DeeDee in the mounting yard for the second race

Going round to the barriers

Luckyimbarefoot wins the second

Glenburnie Dane and Look Don't Touch fight out the third

Glenburnie Dane wins it by a nose

Today was the day of DeeDee's second start and this took us to Cranbourne. She was second last over the line, so not very impressive at all. Hopefully she'll race over more distance next time and on a half decent track.

Peace,

- Adrienne

Days Eighty-Three and Eighty-Four

Eighty-Three

It's a grapevine. It looks cooler when its growing and producing fruit. I will get a picture of it later in the year when it's at its best.

Eighty-Four

Today saw a day trip to Donald for the races. The horse in the image is Renounce and he was my charge for the day. They made him out to be a massive pain in the butt, but he was good as gold for me. 2yo colt, blinkers first time... He had respect! I like him, but he was average and the stablemate beat him. Oh well

Day Eighty-Two - N64

Today my friend Andrea came over and we played Pokemon Stadium 2 on the Nintendo 64. I was finally knocked off my perch of minigames champion, but I finished the day undefeated on the battlefield. I think we all know who the Pokemon master is.

Hahaha

Day Eighty-One - Bring out the PS2

Yep, we whipped out the good old ps2 today - complete with James Bond Nightfire. My cousins, my brother and I used to spend hours playing this game. It was great. Today we re-learnt how to play. My brother forgot how to turn around, one of my cousins (pictured above) couldn't work out how to "un-crouch" and I kept changing my weapon instead of firing it. Epic fail? Why yes. Great Fun? Definitely.

And yes, not only did I shoot someone, I won a round! I won because I died less, but nonetheless I still won. Thanks to Nick for this one. (Look! There's Jet!)

Peace,

Day Eighty - Lemon Tree

Lack of inspiration? Yep pretty much. At least it was sunny today

Day Seventy-Nine - Stable Visit

Predatory Pricer

I was super trucking again today and when we got back I got to meet Predatory Pricer. For those who know racing, Predatory Pricer is Takeover Target's younger half brother. I have to say that he's an incredibly nice horse - inquisitive and friendly.

Day Seventy-Eight - Roasting Marshmellows

We went out, to the sticks, and roasted marshmellows over the fire. Good night? Why yes.

Day Seventy-Seven - Jet's Back

On the Prowl

It's been awhile since super cat graced this blog, so he's back. Today he was prowling though the kitchen looking for god knows what. He didn't find it, he told me so... LOUDLY.

peace,
