Day Twenty-One - Grass in the Drive

The grass in our driveway

So, there's no cool story involving this photo because all the cool stories happen at school... like how I lost my locker today. Yep, you read that correctly, I lost my locker. The good news is, I found it. The bad news is, its now located in the middle of a very small and busy corridor. So hmm at that.

See you tomorrow,

Day Twenty - In the Light of Day

A Rare Sunny Moment

Today, while for the most part cloudy, produced a few small moments of sunshine late this afternoon and I endeavoured to recapture my 'night scene' (Day 18) in the light of day. I think it worked out okay, and it was nice to stand in the sun for thirty seconds.

Day Nineteen - Up Close and Personal

" 'Scuse me, I'm trying to sleep"

Today while I wasn't attending our school athletics carnival, I spent some time chasing Jet around and annoying him while he tried to sleep (sweet, sweet revenge).

Day Eighteen - Full Moon

The Night Sky

It was my Mum's birthday today, and we come home from a family dinner to this wonderful night sky. And I pretty much decided that it had to be my photo of the day then and there. I love the moon, specially the full moon. Well, I love all things cosmo haha. I was trying to take this photo and this giant bat came screeching out of the gumtree, scared the hell out of me. They're surprisingly noisy these bats.

Day Seventeen - Butterfly hanging from my Window

Hanging Around

I deemed it too cold to wander around outside so I settled for a photo of this stain glass butterfly that hangs by the window. I'll be honest and say that I don't have a lot to say about this photo, my head is far away in a land of dragons...

Day Sixteen - An Autumn Leaf

Frozen in Time

I picked up this leaf nearly two weeks ago while walking home from school. I took it with me because I liked the colour. It's purple/pink and its fantastic. I'm pleased that its holding its colour too. Frozen in time. I didn't intend to take a photo of my leaf, I was playing around with my lens when I snapped this and I felt it was better than anything else I'd captured today.

Day Fifteen - Night Patrol

Checking out the Happenings

So I nearly forgot to take a photo today. I blame this on being asked to work last minute. Moving onto the photo..

This is our other cat Lewis. He's fat, latte coloured and pretty grumpy. He has his moments, but he's just a grump. He's recently been allowed back into my room following the departure of my goldfish and he's making up for lost time by patrolling from my window regularly.

Day Fourteen - Rainy Day

Drip..Drip..Drip

Today didn't start out too bad, it was warm, the sun was shining, I didn't show up to school til 11.20am. But by the time I left the clouds had rolled in and it had started drizzling/raining steadily. So, here is some water dripping of the roof.

Day Thirteen - Swinging

Swinging the Afternoon Away

My sister and I went out to yet another park today, and its fair to say that I did a lot of things I shouldn't have. But oh well, I'm willing to pay the price. We a stormwater drain reserve, where my camera and I nearly went backwards off the swing. Then we wandered up to the soccer oval, which consists of two soccer pitches, one cricket pitch and two playground sites. At the first playground I had a good swing, because the swings at our local park make me nervous - I'm pretty sure I'm going to break them one day. And then I nearly fell off one of the ride ons. Hehe.

At the second playground my sister had a swing (above photo) and I lay down on the bridge and stayed there until my phone very inconveniently rang, and home we went. A nice, relaxed afternoon.

Day Twelve - Through the Branches

The sunlight through the brances as the sun starts its decline
(Don't ask me about the random red branches..)

I was trying to do my maths homework this afternoon, and photography kept distracting me because I didn't really want to do my maths. You'll be glad to know that not only did I take some photos, I also finished my maths, so it's all good.

So this is the tree on a nature strip - the strip of grass infront of our house that the council calls ours, however they say we can't cut the tree down. Make sense? I didn't think so. It's all big and prickly and its just a really unattractive and mean tree. No one should have one in front of our house. In winter its rather foreboding and well, I just don't like the tree to be honest. Can you tell? I do however, like the photo.

Day Eleven - Something Wicked This Way Comes

The Clouds were even Cooler Today

Yeah, okay I know. More clouds. But they were even cooler today! And you can't deny that, so don't even try. Hehe. They look like mountains. It's just phenomenal the way they've come together. And I'm pretty sure thats a face on that first mountain. They've brought a pretty cool storm with them too. I haven't seen this much lightning in a while. Electrical storms are the coolest storms, in my opinion of course.

I say cool way too much, and I'm thinking I like clouds way too much.. Something to ponder.

See you tomorrow!

Day Ten - The Sky

The Clouds were Looking Particularly Cool Today

I spent much of school today debating with my friend Lily what I was going to take a photo of. We decided on a tree, but the clouds were looking so much cooler. So I photographed a particularly cool looking cloud. I must say that I'm feeling pretty cool right now, you know with my cool cloud photo.

Okay I'm done, promise! See you tomorrow

Day Nine - Birds

Wattle Birds, They're Evil

I was following my cat again today, and while we were sitting in the front yard a wattle bird caught sight of Jet. Jet has a history of annoying the wattle birds in our street, you know - climbing trees to get at them and such, so you can hardly blame them for hating him. The only reason it wasn't swooping was because I was there. But it was clearly agitated by Jet's presence, which made it very hard to get a half decent photo of it. So I ended up with the above snap. Not bad eh.

Day Eight - The Park

On the Slide

Today I went to the park with my sister and the neighbours three kids (two of which appear above) and well, lets just say that it was an interesting experience. I won't gross you out with the details, but basically the youngest (who appears in the photo) is a she devil who should NEVER EVER be let out of anyones sight, EVER.

Okay, I'm done! Haha

See you tomorrow,

Days Five, Six and Seven - Camp

Gumtree at Dusk

This was our Cabin Roof - Yep, Tambark

More Awesome Gumtrees

So, I went on camp. And essentially, camp was an epic fail. It's a rather long story but with my long list of injuries I really should not of done what I did. Anyway, onto the photos..

We were waiting to go down to dinner on the first day and I was sitting on a fence post and I decided to look up and the gumtree's branches were black across the grey sky and I just thought it looked pretty awesome so I made someone go find my camera (I'm so lazy) and I took a picture.

On day two, I took a photo of a cabin roof, because I though it was so cool that they'd made the ceiling out of tambark! HOW COOL!

On day three I finished packing in record time, and went to take a photo of a differing gumtree in daylight hours, and I thought it worked out remarkably well. This was also the only day of sunshine we had on said camp.

See you tomorrow!

Day Four - Following the Jet

The super-pyscho Jet!

I went looking for out cat after school today, because he's so cool and all. And he truly is, by the way. They don't get much better than Jet. He's super cuddly, over-friendly, a real freak of nature and absolutely stunning. Though he can be pretty arrogant at times. It's the siamese. Yes, he's part siamese and part burmese and unfortunately copped that horrible siames yowl. But he loves to play so that's always a plus.

I found him pretty quick, he was causing trouble -typical- so I shouted his name and he came running to see me! I love the cat.

By the way, I'm going on school camp tomorrow and get back friday so there'll be three or four photos upon my return.

Day Three - Autumn on the Streets

Turning Red

Today I went for a wander around the streets surrounding my house and admired the changing scenery as we slowly venture into the later stages of autumn. The leaves are really changing colour now, and I particularly loved the leaves of the above tree, they went from a stark green to a bright red - not unlike the leaves of the christmas poinsettia.

Day Two - The Old Brickwork

Looking out of the old Brickwork

Today took me to a park, which I fondly call the 'duck park' due to the fact that once upon a time it was okay to feed the ducks at this park. The council put an end to that to 'discourage wasps'. Fenced off next to this park is an old Brickwork. There is also a very convenient hole in the fence near the brickwork that the council have failed at patching up time and time again. So I went in, with my eight-year-old sister, and had a look round. Didn't get very far though - where I took the above photo, the roof looked like it was going to collapse at any given moment so it was in and out very quick. I intend to go back with a more sane friend at a later date and have a better poke around.

Through the window you can see the fence (that isn't doing its job) and some of the play equipment.

See you tomorrow!

Day One - Flemington Races

Project Horse Hope Welfare - 1000m - Race 2

So today took me to Flemington racecourse for their Community Raceday. I'm a keen racing photographer so it seemed fitting that my first image be a racing shot.

Hope to see you tomorrow!
